Abundance monitoring of waterbirds at critical sites in the East Atlantic Flyway with a focus on Western Africa

Abundance monitoring of waterbirds at critical sites in the East Atlantic Flyway with a focus on Western Africa provides practical guidance for monitoring breeding and non-breeding waterbird populations at key coastal wetland sites along the East Atlantic Flyway. Developed under the CREAF project and authored by Marc van Roomen (Sovon Dutch Centre for Field Ornithology), the publication supports site managers, researchers, and conservation practitioners in strengthening coordinated long-term monitoring programmes, particularly in Western Africa. The guide forms part of the developing CREAF Monitoring Toolbox.
